I need something to dissolve rubber cement that won't strip the wood, or damage the finish....

1795 Springfield with a lock date of 1809. I can't complain about buying it for $300. Not when I should get $600 for it as it sits, or $800 if I clean the rubber cement out.

If it's just rubber cement, i might start picking it out with tweezers. In my experience it doesn't bond well to anything.

Looks like clear silicone/ RTV. Should not be to much of a problem. Nice score
