Looks like interference between the rear collar of the upper handguards and the wood of the lower handguards. Might have to hit it with a file.
I was wondering about that, when purchasing, there was one of those regulatory statements that said something along the line of "fitment not guaranteed, some filing may be required" - or some verbiage to that affect ... but pls don't quote me on that as I've already had several strong drinks. ;)

Don’t ask me what I did yesterday. I’ve had a beer, and slept since then.

On another note, I've been overly pissed off since yesterday, which carried into all day today, because I somehow lost the 1 singular box, that one FRIGGIN box, that contains all of my Octane 45 pistons - so at the moment, my Octane 45 has to remain on a 9mm, but I really wanted to go take my wife to the range and mount up the Octane on the 300 BO, but NOPE, didn't FRIGGIN happen!!

okay, I think I got that out of my system ...

Looks like you are also making contact here...which could prevent you from seating.

I just adjusted that, made it level - but still no-joy.

Could it be the length of the gas tube that needs to be filed down a bit (maybe the front portion to give the lever further room to turn / actuate at the rear?

Highly doubtful.

I think the metal here may be hitting the wood and interfering.

@AirOpsMgr

Might have to file the metal down a bit here to give you clearance to seat.

I didn't forget this, I just got distracted and posted my last comment before I realized I didn't respond to this post ;)

I swear, I'm really not THAT drunk (I can still type, so that's a good sign).

Okay, so If'in I understand your advice correctly, start with a file on this area (the one posted above) first, and see if that does the trick?
