They did. My Geissele URG rails are more golden than the ones on Super Duty.I mean if you buy 5 rifles or 5 rails, they'll all vary in coloration...
Also the early rails had more of a gold/copper color to them which is why they're worth so much money now...

You need a spine stamp, or a rear stamp? Spine stamps are common. The spine is where most stamps are
