I remember when nobody wanted an NHM91

I remember buying one - NIB at the Oklahoma City gun show for 229 bucks.

When I worked at the glass plant, us batch/furnace/maint guys worked for about 2 weeks straight, super long days/nights. Holiday pay, plus double time. (this was at Christmas shutdown) That big paycheck came the first week of January, a few of us would head to OKC with wads of cash. This was in the early to mid-90s, surplus heaven.

I remember buying the NHM91 and debating if I wanted it or the SVT.
Mausers (Nazi) - 99-139 bucks
Mausers (Swedes) - 79-99
SKS (Norinco) - 75-100
AKs (Norinco) - 175-250
Mosins were cheap cheap cheap. (I bought a 44 with a laminated stock, sling, oiler, etc..for a hundred dollar bill)

I bought Turkish 98 Mausers for 39.99 a piece, covered in cosmo, some were rough, some were good.

Gun shows don't even resemble what they looked like back then. I miss drooling over the really nice mil-surp stuff that was around.

Later on K31s were 100, walnut stocked ones ran about 150.

Dammit. Those were the good old days, and we didn't even know it.

I remember the shows in the mid-late 80's, they rocked pretty good.

In 2011 I was sent to Little Rock and they had a pretty big gunshow while I was there, I was amazed at how good the show was compared to what we have here. There was a lot of variation between tables, prices were pretty good. The gunshows here, you can look at the tables of 4 or 5 different vendors and the tables all look the same.
