And you're tech support!

Bought this checker today and misread the back of the GFCI since it's written in FUCKING FRENCH (No offense @Jake)

I'm looking at it, BLANC IS BLACK and NOIR IS WHITE WTF IS THE PROBLEM!!!?!?!

Derrrrrrrrr, I'm gonna blame it on the heat...

In my other defense, one of my other residential electrician buddies told me white goes to the gold screw and black goes to the silver screw and that's the first thing I checked...

Is there a box for that receptacle or is it just zipped into the wall?

I have twin boys. Fraternal, not identical.

One of 'em is a real gear head like his dad used to be.

I love him to death but when he borrows my tools and doesn't return 'em...yeah, really works my last nerve!

I've been through that when I lived with my brother. I didn't need my tools for months...when I went back there to grab some tools, I could have killed him. I had to replace a lot of the tools that went missing...

Man. It was a pain in the ass. The box is there but there's not enough room to screw the receptacle to it. So the cover keeps the receptacle from coming out and the pressure from the wires keeps it from pushing in. I ain't happy about it at all but fixing it is beyond my scope. They trimmed the GFCI cover for clearance. It was definitely hacked together by someone that didn't know what they were doing but I believe it's safe for use the way it is. I wouldn't leave an unsafe situation for someone else to deal with.
