You didn't gain anything, all you did was theoretically keep up with the inflation of a failing dollar, but thats only useful if you can exchange it for something useful

If I wind up with it, I'll need about $800. Trying to figure out if thats reasonable. It has a magpul or magpul knockoff rear sight, really needs a carry handle...

Depends. Is the real inflation 2% of gold increase or 7% of silver increase? If it is 2%, I gained 5% over inflation. And savings account pays only 0.25%.

yep that is correct.

Was researching and they made an "A3" XM-15 that had the A2 FSP and fixed stock with a flat top upper. 1/9 HBAR.

I told him I'm going to pass on it. Fixed carry handle I might have went for it.
