Those look a lot like AN/AVS (ANVIS) 6 goggles. I bet they weigh alot less than the dual PVS-14 setup.

The first NVG goggle I ever used was the AN/PVS 5...Gen 2 grainy green with lots of visual noise (looked like light snow) in low illum, heavy 28 ounces, required some serious counter weight on the back of the helmet, visual aquity sucked (like 20/200 in low illum sucked), and depth perception was pretty bad.

ANVIS were Gen 3 blue/green clear goodness, half the weight - around 16 ounces, with a dual battery pack mounted on back of the helmet required no counter weight. Visual aquity was 20/50 in low illum (no visual noise) and depth preception was greatly improved. They were the absolute shit!

I bet you are going to really like the upgrade.
