Last things first:
Attics are terrible places to store things. Period. And if shit is getting melted up there, check your roof ventilation. Should be good circulation from soffit vents to ridge vents, or turtle backs if it’s older. Storing a bunch of crap in an attic often gets in the way of this circulation and further cools your shit. And raises your cooling cost, plus you’re squishing your insulation, etc. Store shit in the basement.
As for your basement idea, I’m confused by what you said.
What’s your purpose for the space? Storing the shit from the attic?
How can you have a 5’ deep cabinet? I’d call that a walk-in closet
Help me out a bit here?
Yeah finally. Something even a little more friendly to the budget.
How tall is the space? Go to the ceiling, if you can. Metal shelves that I had talked about are 4' long, IIRC. If you can, put 3 of them along the wall, all the way to the ceiling. Screw them into the studs, to keep from being tipped. Oversized and heavy totes go on the floor in front.I want to come up with the best way to store stuff in a corner of a carpeted basement room. I’m willing to use up 5’ in depth, 10-11’ in width of the room for storage purposes. I have a good bit of stuff in my parents basement that i need to bring home and do not have anywhere else to put it.
Our house is our “first owned house” and i realize now how important good storage is, because this dude doesn’t have any. And i am very against storage units.

@Jake
Have you ever looked at freshwater shrimp? They had some at the pet store today, thinking about getting another shrimp tank...again...
100% silicone, no mold inhibitorsYeah man, Creation Pet had several different kinds yesterday. I have tiger barbs(although they are babies, only about 1/4 of the size they're gonna be), an asshole but badass Koi Betta, some tetras, and a Loach. I'm afraid the loach would eat them or my tiger Barb's will if they're small enough. The shrimp I saw were tiny as hell. I have 6 tanks now(3 are just small Betta tanks for my kids) the other 3 are a 5gal GloFish tank(gonna get a bigger tank soon), my old lady's 6gal 360° tank, and my new 9gal tank. Gonna get some sealant and seal my old 3gal bowfront tank that sprung a leak on the bottom of it. Debating turning that into the quarantine tank. I get new fish often so it would be good to have an extra.tank that isn't Tupperware.
