Otherwise scrub it with dish soap, COLD water (to keep pores closed) and sugar (mild abrasive).
PS, as I have learned this week, if it gets in the eye, preservative free eye drops (over the counter) and eye cream with antibiotic and anti-histamine (prescription)
PPS cortizone cream for the skin. Even aloe vera gel with lidocaine is better than nothing.

Not a colt barrel but still not bad for a Colt lower rifle.
