Speaking with the contractor foreman 6 of their 8 office staff got furloughed indefinitely, including the project managers. Kinda nuts.

Several of my buddies at GC's are concerned they may be laid off in the near future, mainly on projects where funding has stopped on their specific project by the owner. I've heard rumors of a couple large Subcontractors that have allegedly shut down permanently. (Already in a bad spot with cash flow and this nailed the door shut).
I've been working home for 2 weeks now, for the delivery, but I got told yesterday they expect me back in the office in the next day or two. Yet, most GC's we work for have been progressively doing more virtual and working from home as the virus has continued growing. I have had 0 issues working from home and been more productive than I ever would've been at the office.... The "Old School" mindset of you have to be in person to be working, is a massive downfall to companies, that want to grow (and bring in younger employees that could potentially grow into a very big role within an organization).
I'd rather be furloughed tbh if it comes to that
