Really want to see what happens with the jobs she has applied for before I do. Only fight fire for 4-6 months out the year. But make enough money to where I wouldn’t even need a job the rest of the year but I would. When I was on the west coast, there crew I worked for I was getting roughly 5 grand a month. So maybe 4500ish after taxes and whatever else I had come out. And that was on the low end of what you can get paid out there. To get a perspective, I make 1800 a month here.

Pretty sure I recovered stuff from my Mom's old laptop using an external enclosure. Just because it can't boot up doesn't mean the files aren't there. A lot of times you just need to plug it in as a secondary drive and copy stuff from it.

Is anything tying you here? For many of us with kids, etc. that would be tough. If you could change your life with that amount of money, I'd think hard.

I can't think of anything that it would really change. I would still gunsmith cause I love doing it. I can't go back to doing it full time cause I would get burned out again pretty quick, although the money from doing it full time is really fucking good. On antique guns I charge $120 labor and There's more than enough business to keep me rocking steady for a long time to come....

That Burn out though.... it's rough. That's the main reason I am so selective with what I do now. Don't want to get stuck in a rut of just blueing guns or assembling ARs or AKs

I would have thought being a gunsmith pays as much as a Brunswick FD gig, so I stand corrected. Life-changing in that it might give you years worth of financial cushion.
