00-01 have bad casting in the heads. They overheat a bit and they WILL crack.
97 is an electrical nightmare. Was the first year of new body and they hadn’t updated the harness from the 84?-96 models.
98-99 are the holy grail,and people that have them know it.
88-90ish are renix motors, with closed loop cooling system. No radiator cap, you fill from the overflow tank. That are known to crack/brittle
90-96 are good, but the square body.
The AW-4 auto is bulletproof in all of them. Stay away from the Peugeot 5 speed, garbage. It was in the 90’s models. The good 5 speed is escaping me at the moment. New venture something.... I believe.
The AW-4 will pull all weekend with miller lite mixed with trans fluid.
Miller lite also makes decent engine coolant.
