I've got a 10.5" 5.56 on my folder pistol, and another 10.3" .300BO upper for it, and now I've got a 11.5" on another lower, with the ELCAN on it.


I was trying to hit a target at 100yds yesterday with the 11.5 and 3.5X ELCAN, and didn't group for shit. Same with the 10.5" with SIG Romeo RDS. Didn't have the 300BO with me.

Pulled out the AR10 20" HB and could put 5 rounds touching at same distance, so it's not that I can't shoot.

I'm not sure that the 11.5" really is much different than the 10.5 other than a slight climb in velocity. But I'm gonna keep trying to make that 11.5 seem like it's better anyway, because - ELCAN!!! I really like that damn tank optic.

I took 4 of mine and stacked them like cordwood in the back of the truck and drove to the range this weekend. Got some nice scratches on the AR10's camo paint.

Where did you zero the 10.5/11.5 at? 50/250 or 100y zero or? And shooting 55gr fmj?

That might be the problem right there...the reticle is kinda weird, has lots of horizontal lines with numbers (3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12) but there's not really a normal crosshair anywhere. So I zeroed at 25 yards using the 5 line, then moved to 100yards, figured the same line would at least be on paper...NOPE. tried every line, got 3 hits on 12x12 target, but saying it was a group would be generous.

Need to try it again more scientifically.
