The steel Korean mags that were $5 on BF are LRBHO and good to go. Loaded with 30rd can be hard to seat on the closed bolt, but lockimg bolt back first works, and spring wears in after a while..

There is a lot of junk Mauser ammo out there. Some of it is "hot" . I would probably resign myself to using new commercial brass cased ammunition.

meh. I wouldn't be afraid of any of it - but lots is corrosive, and accuracy varies. There's mil-surp stuff from 154-198 grains. I've found the K98s like 175-198 best.

Some of the other 98s favor the lighter bullets.
