My comment was really adding on to who said their relatives were retiring at 58 and 50 from state jobs. Maybe more detail on that? Damn near impossible to do that in a "normal" job.
About double. 52k is the highest.
Depends on the state. Alaskan pension, depending on the tier is 80% of the highest paid 5 years. Earlier tiers got 100% medical. Others got to rerire earlier.

Not sure on that one. Our minimum retirement age is 59 1/2 with benefits. Earlier if they offer an "Early Out" with reduced benefits. But that age would still be 55 or so...

My BIL and SIL are still in the communist state of Illinois but they get 80% of their last 5 years so everyone does tons of OT to get the best pension.
That may be one of the many reasons Illinois is broke.

They also get full medical and their retirement is a combination of age plus years of service once you hit 80 points you can go with full pension.
I went shooting with my buddy 2 weekends back. He recently got a trained k9, 2 year old boy tought in Czech commands.
