Sooooooooo, this is going to piss off some. I am thinking of spray painting my deer rifle. Now before anyone freaks out, its a $200 Savage Axis with a black synthetic stock.

Have any of yall done this before? any tips? Pictures maybe?

Got a picture? What colors do you use?

I don't anymore. I need to paint my 3030 in the next week or so, I'll snap some pics then. I use flat colors, usually from the kylon camo line.

If you're worried about painting it for effectiveness, don't worry about detail. Just paint it a color that isn't too dark, and break it up a bit with some slightly darker colors. Light grays, light to medium browns. Just spray that shit on.

Stipple it if you want, it's cheap and yours. Is is not like you are hacking up a $1200 Colt. If the barrel falls out afterwards you are only out $200, and if it is ugly, you can still get $150 out of it.

Pick some colors based on your surroundings! Rock it, if you sell it, someone will just have to strip it!

I think it will look fine however you wish to paint it. You are the only one that has to be satisfied with the results. If you don't use paint made for plastics then check the internet for tips on painting nylon.

I paint guns on a daily basis. Why would that piss people off? If it does piss them off F em, it's your rifle. : )

honestly, paint a $1,000,000 gun, if it makes it more useful, then do it. I hate this whole ideology that guns are just to be kept and sold like trading cards.
