I've read that the FV-SR has ammo preferences that are different between each rifle.

Pretty much all rifles do. Grab an assortment and test it out. Mine really liked CCI SV's

I've read that the FV-SR has ammo preferences that are different between each rifle.

I also noticed that it was particularly susceptible to torque differences on the action screw if it is not bedded. I can't remember what I landed on as being the best. I made a note of it somewhere before switching stocks, I'll see if I can find it.

Every rifles does. I did testing of everything I had a bricks worth of for my favorite 10-22, the results went from 1 1/4 moa to 6moa. That's one ragged hole versus 1 1/2" group at 25 yards. And the 6moa ammo was fed Automatch, something other rifles I had seemed to prefer.

In my experience,

40gr is better than 36
SV is better than HV
LRN is better than Copper washed.
