I imagine that you wouldn't even feel it when you are being fired upon and your life is on the line. You are right though. Our previous generations were badasses in real life.

Agreed... on both accounts.

My grandfather was a 15year old farm kid from SW Ohio when he signed up for the Navy in 1943. He had his mom drive him down to the Cincinnati Union Terminal (what they based the Hall of Justice from DC Comics on) and with the $2.90 that the U.S. Navy gave him and a train ticket, he went to San Diego on his own where he went through boot camp and got on a boat to the South Pacific to become an underwater demolitions guy. Crazy to imagine... at 15, I was playing smear the queer in my backyard and beating off in the bathroom to Victoria Secret catalogs.
