New heat resistant suppressor cover from ColeTac

Just got this in today. I'm extremely impressed with the construction quality and even more so with the turnaround time. Cole Tac allows you to custom order to your exact specifications, including colors for each component right down to the buckles. They also custom cut the dimensions to your specifications. Cole Tac was very responsive to my questions about sizing and I received my custom cover in 9 days from order to mailbox!

They offer a few different models. This is the Python model, which features steel buckles for greater durability and heat resistance.

Well, now everybody knows that. I blame the 10mm wrench that walked away from me and stopped near the muffler. Damn chinese wrench. I'm pretty sure that one still resides in the wood line behind my Mom's barn.

Now that I'm older, I'm very happy to wait until the mower is cool before working on anything.

I get my 5.56 can smoking ass hot, rarely though do I get my 7.62 can hot enough to justify it.

Don't get me wrong, my 7.62 can gets hot enough to not want to touch, but nothing like my 5.56 can.

Even shooting 5.56 out of it? Is the 7.62 just that larger of a diameter that will dissipate the heat faster?

I don't know about NWS, but I can't afford enough 7.62 to get that can super hot. Now a bunch of .223 in rapid succession is something else.

I generally only use my 7.62 can on my bolt gun or lever gun. I got it pretty damn hot on my 7.62x39 SBR but I don't shoot that thing very often.

I know my SOS-45 can gets crazy hot. How will effect one if the heat cant dissipate? May not matter, I have no clue.

If I had to guess I'd say it's similar to an exhaust wrap.

It's definitely not nylon, at least not the inner material. The outer is Cordura. The interior may be nomex, but I'm not 100% positive. They have a video on their site of them applying a blowtorch to it.
