Hey fellas,

A buddy gave me a box of Herter's Select (made by Blazer) yesterday. It's a 50 round box, 115gr, aluminum case, NYLON coated :-\ ammo. He got it at Cabela's and they call it TNJ (Total Nylon Jacket?). I haven't had a chance to fire it yet, I'll try and report when I do but I'm curious what your experience is with it. I guess it was fairly inexpensive.

Sounds like a clone of the Federal Nyclad (which everyone liked - 125 gr. for .38 sp).

Wow, here is an old photo of my new SR9c, my great Cabellas shooting gloves and a box of Herters blue tip ammo. The lead is covered with blue plastic. It shot just like any other range ammo. I think Cabellas here in town had it on sale for $7 per 50. Den

Hey Denny.....Do those plastic tips leave plastic residue in the gun or barrel.... :-\

That was a long time ago. I know my barrel was fine and no bad memories about that ammo. Den

Thats a Galco holster. When I bought my 9c it was for concealed carry. I wanted to begin competing in IDPA the next weekend and that was the only holster around. The holster fits and works great. IDPA rules state that if your holster has a lock or strap you must use it. For a new competitor that was another thing to add to the stress. Its all good for me. I shot that setup for 3000 rounds of competition and still run it for one stage of each match almost all the time to stay current. I kind of threw myself into the fire when showed up to compete. I now feel at home shooting from behind cover, around car tires, from a moving golf cart, sitting and shooting under a table. walking and shooting a moving target, Target ranges from 1 foot to 50 yards. I better stop or I will fill up the page. Needless to say I know my carry weapon like the back of my hand. Den
