Tresna Defense has a 9mm carbine that comes in S&W M&P magazine platform. They already have a Glock version out and is available now as a rifle or pistol. If you are Law Enforcement, they make a full auto SMG.

Jose Jaureguizar, the CEO of Tresna, brought out his new JAG9MP for us to shoot at the Big 3 East last week. We used Promag 32 rd M&P9 mags through the SMG. Tresna does advertise that the bolt does stay open on the last round. However on this prototype, the bolt would lock open on the second to last round fired, leaving the last round in the magazine. We chalked this up to the fact that it was a Promag magazine. I did not try it with a standard 17rd S&W M&P magazine to see if the problem was isolated to the Promag hicaps.

Comes at a high cost though, around $1200.

ugh...$1200 is insane. I want an HK USC45 quite badly but I'm not paying $1700 for a big pistol.

Terrible trigger, they somehow managed to make a pistol caliber carbine have bad recoil, stock only friction locks.

I have heard quite a bit about the recoil. I find it hard to believe but I've never shot it. What would you liken the recoil to?

its a really bad upwards jolt, even at the slow RPM it fires at. I rented one at High caliber in Holly springs

hmm...they aren't too far from me. I may need to go try it out.

Listen here you beautiful bitch, imma bout to fuck you up with some truth, so listen good

The gun sucks, 45 is expensive, and they make their college age range officer babysit you while you shoot it. It was a disappointment.

Sorry mom....

45 isn't that expensive. I have a ton of it already anyway. Besides, I know that if I was to ever get shot I'd hope they would have the decency to shoot me with a 45 and do the job right.

I had a USC and SL8 back in 2000. I agree on the recoil of the USC, lots of recoil and muzzle flip for a .45. Accuracy was decent, even with the spongy trigger.

You guys are determined to kill my dream...lol

In all seriousness I will probably never get one. If I could find one that was sub $1k, which is where I think it should have been priced anyway, I'd give it a shot. Right now if I were to buy a small carbine for HD for the wife ( it's always for the wife...that way she can't say no) I'd be looking at a PS90. If they go on sale for $850 again I'll be a buyer.

You also have to deal with astronomically expensive mags, and limited capacity.

HK has really been taking backsteps on 45 capacity. My HK45 will hold 11 but is only advertised as a 10 rounder. It's predecessor the USP held 12+1.

To be fair, these were guns designed for export during the AWB, both the USC, and SL-8. I wish they'd give it another go.

for a 45 carbine I'd go with a Qcircle10 glock mag lower and the Macon armory DI45 upper. Insanely low recoil, delayed action for suppression, and total cost isn't too bad if I recall, right around $1k

Never heard of either...but I haven't looked in to building a .45 carbine that much. I have some research to do now. Thanks!
