I was carrying a Shield for the last 6 months and over the holidays picked up a SIG Sauer P290RS and I love it! It has a much smaller footprint, less weight, night sights a feels very good in the hand and in an IWB holster appendix carry.

Got one in my pants today too. Great little carry gun. Kinda heavy for a little guy and that DA only trigger pull is long as hell, but smooth. I like it.


I've never carried a shield, but I'm pretty sure the p290 is heavier.

You can pick one up for about $400. My wife(ex) got me mine for Christmas 3 years ago. She doesn't know guns and I think she got it at academy with the 6 and 8 round mags, factory laser(I hate lasers) and sig holster for like $550.

Yep, it is 9mm and has a 6+1 and 8+1 capacity. Mine did come with the laser although I took it off. I paid $499 + tax at Academy and had been looking all day for the P250C which was my first choice. The problem with shopping the day after Christmas is that the stores were sold out of everything. I picked up the gun and the leather holster shown for $534 out the door. I did find the gun on GrabAGun for $399 somewhere although I did not follow up on it. It is very light and I like the fact that it comes stock with the sig nite light sights as well. The DAO takes a little getting used to but the trigger pull is not bad and the break is smooth and crisp. I am still waiting on an opportunity to put some rounds through it (I shot a couple of mags worth to get used to it) for a proper break in session.

You should really work on your aim. I've heard bullets bounce of armadillos. I'm sure that's all it was.

Like any double action, it's long, but not as long as you might expect. It's super smooth.
