I took some construction debris to the landfill last month. When I was leaving I saw a few mowers sitting off to the side. I asked about them and was told that that's where you throw away old gas powered machinery. They charge you extra for it.
I asked if it was up for grabs and she said I could take one item per paid visit.
I picked this old Murray 42" yard tractor. I figured I could fix it or salvage the motor.
After spending $40 on a battery, $7 on oil and a filter, $23 on a carb rebuild kit, $8 on a belt, $20 on new blades and $80 on two new deck spindles/bearings, she's finished.
I've got $180ish tied up in it. I cut 4 acres today without a hiccup
Shes won't be my primary mower but it's a nice cheap backup.
