I bought a threaded barrel for the ultra-stellar, invincible HK VP9, ultra 9. My question is, should I keep the old factory barrel or trade it off for some ammo/mags?

What's the market on factory non-threaded barrels...same as a free sample of the clap? I dunno.

I'd keep it. Mostly because if you decided to sell the pistol down the road, you could sell the pistol with the non-threaded barrel. The threaded barrel should be easy to sell on it's own.

I kind of doubt the factory non-threaded barrel is worth very much- most pistols already have barrels.

I would keep it you can have a regular barrel gently used and a threaded barrel heavy used. It's nice to have options

Back in the day I bought additional factory barrels for handguns I intended to shoot a lot. I did shoot them a lot. Still never needed a replacement.
For rifles, yes, especially the high velocity ones.
