It is clearly tumbling in stainless media.

I hadn't cleaned my octane in a year and I've shot hundreds of 45 through it including steel case, countless 9mm, full auto 9mmm mag dumps, and about 100 rounds of 44 magnum. This is how clean it is after I let the baffles tumble last night.

And the blast baffle, which had been exposed to some pretty fast burning 44 magnum powders.

I definitely need a tumbler then. That's cleaner than I get my Spectre II and I haven't shot enough through the Tirant to clean yet. I'm looking into one.

What cleaner did you use in the tumbler or is it just media

Let's change this debate a bit: do centerfire suppressors need cleaning at all?

I'll snap a pic of the supplies for this method later. I recommend a larger tumbler since I can't fit my monocores in there

Here's a dirty Zephyr after a dozen bricks of .22. I picked, chipped, scraped, and cried for hours getting about 3/4 of the crap off the core.

Thought I had more than one picture- I was probably too pissed off to take any more after the first one.

That's about how mine looked the first time I cleaned mine. I felt like a dentist for a few hours. I was gonna soak them in vinegar for a day this time to see if that helped any.
