Is the VP9 a "Civilian only" product?

I've owned HK's for a while and, to me, one of the big selling points is that they are ruggedly overbuilt and able to withstand extreme conditions. I know torture tests can get ridiculous at times but I at least want to know that if I'm in the woods, in a kayak or canoe and end up in the river for some reason, that my gun will fire. The same holds true for being in the woods on my 4 wheeler and taking a spill in the mud etc... I know my USP would work just fine as would my P2000. I feel the same about any Glock as well. The VP9.... Maybe not now.

So you're an HK fan? I assume you vape as well.

I'm a fan of some specific HK handguns for sure. If you've never tried a P2000, P2000sk or P30, I highly recommend that you do. These three guns are, by far, the best shooting guns I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I prefer the P2000 to the other two for a variety of reasons but wouldn't hesitate to grab any of them.

The VP9 is a sweet shooting gun but has shown too many weaknesses for me to ever want one. There's apparently some spring that randomly falls out and renders the gun useless as well.

It does seem that in an effort to make a "budget" gun to complete with glock HK dropped the ball big time.

Mine has been great. Zero issues, but I don't "torture" it. I don't torture the car or the dog either....both appreciate it and treat me well in return.

Did you actually watch the video? The point being made is not that the gun can be "tortured to failure", it's that it fell in to 2" of water and failed to work after that. That would concern me if I carried one. I also expect my 4wd truck to do better off road than a BMW 3-series.

Well I don't live near water so that's not an issue.

I'm so concerned about the results of this very scientific test that I'm carrying it as we speak. Mmmm. Sushi avenue.

So, you watch a guy drop his VP9 into 2" of water, pick it up and it fails to fire, and your only reply is that the test was unscientific? Alrighty then....

What sushi did you get? I love sushi.

Don't get any on your vp9...
I was in luck, I ate the miso soup quickly to avoid contact with the HK, an the chirashi was a combo of mackerel, tuna, escolar, salmon, squid, crab, whitefish, and egg sashimi. No chance of a liquid induced failure there....now if it will just hold off raining.

You know there are videos out there of just about every HK pistol failing torture tests miserably. If you use YouTube videos as a basis of what not to carry you are going to be very limited in your options.
