And yet that one was enough. Been there- not on a safe, but I've learned some companies really believe one bolt is enough.
I learned this skill at the age of six. I used to pick the padlock on the neighbor's crawl space and "borrow" coke bottles to take to the Majik Market on the corner and turn in so I had some coin to buy some candy. Been developing it ever since.
Even without any kind of intent or wrong doing? I would think they are tools in general vs criminal type.
Kind of like saying keeping a gun around would be a criminal tool.
Picks are legal by statute, state must prove criminal intent.

Hey safe moving guy I learned a long time ago that if you'll unbolt the safe first it will come off the pallet easier.
As for picking locks IMO it's about 40% skill and 60% luck. Even the "easy" stuff can still put up a fight.

You can figure out the combination to a basic combination lock in about 10 minutes with a pad of paper and a pencil
