People make that mistake all the time when they’re trying to mentally justify a purchase LOL.

If I was gonna stay cheap, I'd also likely buy a cheap pre-built upper with a 7.5" barrel from www.deltateamtactical.com
Not the highest quality, but their prices are pretty good - when they've got what I want in a built upper, which hasn't happened yet.
I've gotten small parts from them so far.
I also bought stuff from Cobratac as well, like the carbon fiber handguards I like to use.
Hard to find a 7.5" 9mmP barrel right now, but here's one:
