I have rural property in the Ga mountains and have limited options. Mobil hot spot with att, DSL, or Hughes satellite. Suggestion, pros/cons, & why please. Please don't derail this thread as this is important.

I get 5gigs of data on my phone plan every month for less than $50 can hot spot it as long as its not too many on it. heard the satellites are slow. DSL may be a fair choice if its available

Speed is a consideration but data usage is a major factor too.

If raw data consumption is more important a DSL line would be the most secure and reliable means of connecting. For a while all my parents could get in the VA mountains was DSL and it was 3 notches above unusable slow in comparison to 4G on my phone.

What speed dsl is available? It's based on distance and ranges from 768k to 12m depending on your distance from the cabinet.

Good,that's a better price than I had to pay. got rid of it and use cable now, which is cheaper.
Do they advertise what the speed on it is? My phone was faster,

Satellite Internet. Better than Hughsnet by a mile... in much the same way that a Pacer is better than a Gremlin

I live in Crawford county,have to pay $100 month for a home phone I never use and have slow ass DSL
public service telephone is only provider.no direct tv/dish/att
it freakin sucks

You don't have to have local phone service to have dsl. Dsl should be $20-$30 per month without local phone.

seriously? ive been paying $100 month for last 5 years

my Verizon cell works good and I can use my data plan a lot faster then this junk dsl

I'm always debating whether i want to move way out or closer to the city. Depends on how i feel some days
