I'm looking at a "new" family hauler. It's time to retire the 240 to teen duty.

It needs to be big enough for 3 adult sized humans, a 130 pound doberman, and a little 50 pound dog.
I have it narrowed down to a Toyota Rav4 or Subaru Forester. I'm going to buy something with about 30-50k miles on it.

Opinions between the two? Anyone own one or both?

Thanks.

I would say Forester...I think it has more usable room, depending on what model year RAV4. Also, it won't make you look like too much of a pussy. 240 wagons are cool, to those that "know" anyway.

I need all the help I can get not looking like a pussy.

Visibility seems to be better on the Forester too.

My sister has one out in CO ( not a lesbian)...she loves it. Says it does great in the mountains and snow. I've driven RAV4s and was left feeling less of a man each time...but I'm opinionated ( with a tiny dick).

I like the Outbacks but that Forester is one fugly beast.
hmm, I kind of think the Outback looks awful..Forester..ok. I'm really more interested in function though. I wish I could get a V6 in the Forester.

They don't offer an H6 anymore?

Selling the wagon?
Cm on!
How are you liking the 240? I just love the way they feel like you're driving a tractor. lol
Anyway, it needs some suspension work both front and rear. I'm not looking forward to that.

At least the parts are cheap.

I like it. The shifts are odd but I read that's pretty normal.

My wife does want a wagon though.

Don't discount a Honda CRV. I'm a Toyota guy and like the CRV over the Rav4.

My wife says the same thing, but that thing holds about 50% more than our Nissan Rogue did, and the roof is stout enough to hold several hundred pounds should the need arise. You won't get anywhere fast, but you'll damn sure get there.
