Guys, let me give you all a preview of what's likely to happen if HPA passes and silencers are taken off the NFA list. Inventory will disappear within hours/days from retailers. We know this is likely because of what happened with 41P. It will take manufacturers some time to ramp up production and even longer for the big firearm manufacturers to get setup. So while there will be no Form 4 to wait on, you'll be waiting on retailers getting inventory. There are roughly 8,000 SOTs that carry all the silencer inventory. If HPA passes, there are 140,000 FFLs that will be able to sell silencers. That's a lot of inventory for manufacturers to produce to meet the demand.
Here's my advice to you in the market for a can and if you think HPA will pass as it's written, buy a can now. Think of the tax stamp as insurance to buy a can now and if HPA passes as is, you'll get your tax stamp money back.
Here's the reality, IMO (no facts here) you're not going to get your NFA tax stamp money refunded. Tax stamp money goes into a general fund, there is no NFA Tax fund. I don't see the feds giving millions of dollars taxes back. Do you?
Here's the good news if you want to wait for HPA to pass, we have local manufacturers like @KGmade and Dobbs Defense that you can buy direct!
