Anybody know of a good gunshop with a good selection of milsurp rifles? I'm kind of in the mood for a Swiss K31 and am curious if anyone has seen one locally.

Aside from Mosins I don't know of any gun shops that have many milsurps....which sucks.

There's a pawn shop in Lilburn, I think, that has a decent selection. Hilltop pawn in snellville has some too.

Never seen a k31 in a shop though.

This was the predecessor to the K31. Decent price all things considered.

The thing that sux is all of the great GP11 ammo is gone. Not sure if it will come back or not. The Swiss left the Euro and their currency took off and so if the ammo does come back who knows how much it will cost.

Just buy a VEPR in 7.62x54R instead.

I didn't realise about the ammo, and I've only got about 200 rounds of the stuff.

Usually collectors look for milsurps that aren't readily available. I only keep uncommon Mosin variants to sell, but I have had good luck in most pawnshops that don't know anything other than "it's a Russian rifle".

As far as good selection, there aren't enough unusual surplus guns available from wholesalers for a store to stock up from. Your best bet is to get a C&R & buy fromAim(best deal), Allan's Armory(know what they have, but if you're seriously looking, they don't misrepresent), Dan's Ammo(Tobin), to a lesser degree Classic Arms, or worst case, SOG or direct from Century Arms. Or you can buy direct from other collectors.

@Hayata will sell you his K31.

True story.

Flew to Texas (on business) but picked up my 1941 K31 with matching numbers bayonet on the trip. LOVE the gun!

Wanted one to "bubba" and saw a busted stock model for sale at AIM. Was going to thread it, abuse it, free float the stock, etc until I got it.

Turned out it was the 288th production gun every produced. And here's how she shoots at 600 yards...iron sights and this guy behind the stock.

Needless to say, loves me some K31.

Cherokee G&P had a couple of MilSurps in the rack a month or so ago.
