And it looks great.

Work done. Shortened factory barrel to 4.5", which is where it should have been from the factory. Moved the sight back, and re-threaded the barrel. Frank then cerakoted it matte black.

She's a one of a kind and looks pretty good I think. It should make a fantastic suppressor host.

Sorry about the bad pics.

Very good looking one off- I like it.

I've got a MK II that I'd love to have threaded and have the sight moved back... but the price for doing it was almost as much as the pistol. I'm going to have to live with my factory threaded MK III for now.

The price increase has something to do with the Ruger barrels being a huge PITA to remove.

Oh I hear ya. This is a $580 pistol now.

The Ruger barrels are a huge pain, this thing comes off with a set screw.

All the work + cerakote came to under $200. Not bad.

Very reasonable shop fees for sure- and great looking work. I suppose you've got to consider the S&W a keeper, like I would a MK II if I paid to have it worked over... I know I'd never be able to sell it without taking a huge loss, so I'd better expect to keep it and enjoy it.

Yeah, I like this configuration. There's nothing else from the factory that ticked all of my criteria for a suppressor host.

Looks great, I am likely going to the 400 yard range in Pine Mountain tomorrow for rifle load development.

I put 100 flawless rounds of Winchester copper plated 40 grain solids though it today. Zero problems and stellar accuracy. It was shooting groups on par with the dude next to me using a 10/22.

So far it's a super pistol.

I won a Father's Day promotion at the LGS. I think I'm getting one this week.

Have you broke it down yet? Adjusted the trigger? Tried the rail, other rear sight yet?

Was he that bad or you that good?

It breaks down in 15 seconds. I've done it a dozen times. Never tried the rail, don't need it. I did adjust the trigger stop.

Dunno, but it shoots great.
