So I now have 3 AK type rifles.....I went from having zero because I dismissed the platform as "evil commie junk" to being a beleiver.

I currently have an OPAP, an M10-762, and an M92 PAP with a brace. I really think I need to sell one so I can add a full power rifle to the mix for general purpose needs. I have decided on the PTR 91 in 16" configuration...but if I do indeed add that to the mix then I need to sell one of the AKs to fund it. I'm having a hard time deciding so why not let you jerks give me your opinions...

The OPAP is like a Bentley compared to the other two. The build quality is incredible at any price point for an AK let alone the $609 it cost me. It takes all the mags I've tried and is built like a Panzer. Aside from not taking standard AK furniture it really might be the best AK on the market for the money...at least to my novice mind.

The M10-762 is basically just a new WASR with a Hogue grip, quad rail, muzzle brake, and front sight/gas block combo. I got it because I LOVE the look of the FS/GB combo with a brake on the barrel. I plan on putting Tech Sights on it and adding a wire folding stock. Compared to the Bentley OPAP this thing is a Yugo ( ha....)...but it takes all standard AK parts. This particular gun doesn't seem to want to lock the 3 steel mags I have in place fully. It feeds fine but the mag latch is going to need a little "adjusting" before it's to my liking.

The M92 is...an M92. It's a tiny little AK that I could SBR and keep in my backpack with me...what more need I say?

So...which one should get the ax? Or should I just not buy a PTR....(but I kinda want one).

Go.

Also, Glocks suck. That should generate some responses at least.

Keep both PAPS... dump the WASR. And Glocks rule!

Everyone is saying to get rid of the gun I was chasing after....

That being now that I have it...i like the fact that I can throw it around and not care about it. The OPAP is world's away in terms of fit, finish, and overall quality...it's almost too pretty an AK.

Maybe I'll just keep all three....

You were chasing after an AK? Who the fuck are you and what have you done with Shemp? The Shemp I know doesn't chase after and lust after peasant weapons, he goes for the big ticket items.

Even I can't afford a Galil...which is what I really want. I was chasing an AK that looks very similar to one if you squint a little...

Plus, a new world of special firearms has opened up to me so start expecting to see a new type of Shemp....i assure you it will be better.

Shemp is revising Donald Sutherland's role in invasion of the body searchers, except they took his brain too.

Shooting ability is more important than the tool used, except when you're talking AKs. I found out I can make shots with iron sights out to 500 yards with an AR type rifle, and a M1a. My effective range with the AK is less than 300. There's a reason why revolutionaries and Islamists shoot from the hip, because it doesn't matter.

How long before you start telling us that kel-tecs are great pistols once they're broken in?

I'll have a PTR 91 soon enough for the "precision" work....just trying to decide which of the AKs I should keep.
