like half of my 19 mags do that too. pretty annoying

It is...and I don't understand the mechanics of it. Everything should be under spring pressure and tight enough to not move...

What weight ammo are you using. Wonder if mine don't because I carry 147gr which is longer.

So in other words, man up and carry heavier ammo. ;)

Shouldn't the length all be within a few percentage points of each other regardless of weight?

Due to my suppressors I only use 147gr.

Why do I get the feeling you're sitting at home laughing your ass off at the fact we are all shaking the shit out of our fully loaded 19's listening for a rattle. Which I did by the way and nothing here. Very slight movement of the slide back and forth is all I'm getting.

I tested with 6 different mags. No rattle but I don't have anything but 147gr to test with here.

Ok I think I've found the issue. No rattle in my mags with 137gr critical duty. But my mags with 115gr fmj's do rattle. I found that it's the round in the numbered 7 hole on the back of the mag, if you look you can see it moving back and forth. It only moves when the mag is loaded with 14, 12, or 10 rounds. At least that's the case for me.
