I really want to put one together for my truck. Right now I just keep bottled water and a gun in my car
How about a good checklist or some pictures of your loadout?
Regardless of what you might like to have, there are only 3 things you need.

If you don't tweak out, yeah... You'll be home, maybe with pants.. Maybe not. Or you will look like a pack of 40 something's desperate for lay ripped your clothing off and tore you up looking for a fix
My list :
Osprey talon pack with internal water bladder
Rain coat
Esee izula and flint rod
Soda can stove
Fuel
Toilet paper
Polymeric trowel
Hiking poles
Basic first aid kit
Flashlight
Couple of pens
Rite in the rain notepad
Bandanas
Spork
32oz metal water bottle
Cup to fit over water bottle
Life straw
Panty hose
Multitool
Maxpedition Janus pack filled with my essential survival kit. (Thread on that later)
Compression sleeves (both winter and summer weights just not at the same time)
Altoids urban survival tin (thread on that later)
change of clothing (seasonal based )
Packs of spiced tuna, granola bars, power bars (these get rotated due to the heat)
Bottled water to fill my other water bottles
....

Who cares as long as it fits within your needs! Good list. I just keep a little food and water. Right now.I do not travel more than 20.miles to work. I already wear a good pair.of boots. I always have extra clothes in my car and at work.
