I didn't even know RAFB was open on Saturdays...

Q - you get a part time job at Buc'ees or something?
Oh we have weekend OT available if work requirements allow it. At least here it's voluntary. The 9 years i was on the flightline, it was mandatory most weekends. Like, I made this lateral move to where I am now and I gave up $10K take home pay bc of the loss of overtime.

Colt A4 is probably the cheapest way to get something I consider legit, still available, turn-key, clone correct if you want to go that route. Not overly heavy iirc.

If you want something old school and lightweight, simple, then an A1 clone is super cool. However all the Colt stuff has gotten stupid expensive last time I checked.

But your tastes may differ from mine and it also depends on what you want to do with it...
fuck I need a A1 now

So per Mr. Murphy, the 2nd time took twice as long as the first. But I got it done. Lubed the studs, wife cleaned the wheels for me and I figured it was a good time to straighten the left side exhaust while I had a 2nd set of eyeballs. Was gonna coat the wheels too but I think I'm gonna grab a beer and take a shower and a nap instead. 20220430_152543.jpg

WOW, won something with a Rock River. That is something.

I don't know why Rock River arms has such a bad reputation. They are well made, accurate and reliable. About 10 of my fellow marksmanship instructors had RRA rifles and put thousands of rounds down range in each of them. I'd take a RRA over a Colt anyday. And the truth of the matter is, a mil spec rifle is a mil spec rifle. Some shoot well, and others are complete shit. And you don't know what you have until you get to the range.
