2 million dead Germans can't be wrong... long story short, I met a guy who was hit square in the chest with a 7.62x54R round, it damn near killed him from his heart being severely bruised from a hit on his plate carrier that was shattered on impact... of course the rate of fire leaves much to be desired, from a 91/30.

I have an M44, M28 and a Chinese Type 53 carbine. They are basically bolt action 30’06’s. I damn sure wouldn’t want to get hit with one but would never voluntarily choose any of them over any modern weapons system.

Mornin' gents! Sounds like y'all getting some of that Oklahoma weather.

If you hear the sirens go off, do NOT get in a storm cellar. Go out in the middle of the street to look at the sky. See those other folks doing the same thing? They are your kin.

J/K - my uncle and aunt survived the "big one" in 1999 because they got in a storm cellar. Nice, two story houses in that neighborhood. When they came out of the cellar it was flat as a prairie.

So, if I'm reading this right, this is a Russian 1911?

I wouldn't even choose one over a Mauser or Enfield for that matter.

No, the round he was hit with came from a 91/30, or a PSL type rifle. I think the pistol round you are thinking of is 7.62x25 tokarev. I remember that ammo being super cheap for the longest time, but it dried up about 10 years ago. From what I understand 7.62x25 is a "hot" round and penetrates quite well.

I'm bad at jokes... it was a Lord's Caliber joke.
