Stick with the plan.
Ok,first plan is a GO.
Whatcha think about the two options for the painted rifle?
14.5 P&W and A2 FSP with magpul HGs or 16” with YHM quad rail and KAC panels?

(The lower I’m using has a rather terrible finish, which is why it’s getting this layered paint treatment. Maybe several layers will finally stick.)

Use Brownells Alumhyde paint and bake it on and it will stick.

So you fit right in?

You should do something like this.

And if you want it to look authentic, don't paint it, just let the finish wear off. No GI would ever paint his rifle, and most of the wear and tear will be from carrying it next to your web gear, wearing the finish off.

Tried that. Turned into a sandpaper mess.

From what I’ve heard that means the mix was too old.
I was going to anodize it for real (YouTube videos), but this idea saves me the time and expense of the setup for anodizing.
