I don't really care how my car looks, but these faded damn trim pieces have always bothered me.

Started taking them off tonight to refinish... I'm afraid this almost 20 year old plastic will break before the clips let go. May have to do it on the car.

Oddly, my 23 yr old truck hasn’t had that issue. I’ve even seen other t-100s have paint peeling off and fading, etc. but not mine. I think it’s because I almost never wash it, so the paint doesn’t get thinner. I especially NEVER take it through a drive-thru car wash.
Been about 4 years since I hand washed it, and I feel like I should do it again soon-ish.

Sorry if I’m rambling, had a migraine this morning and the aftermath still hurts.

Not sure... sanding it made me think the clear coat was the issue. Once i got that off, it looked pretty good. But I'm still going to paint it and not leave exposed plastic.

Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with how well the krylon laid down. First coat looks good. Those are reflections, not sags.

I dropped my zx-6 way back in the day and scratched one of the mirrors. Sanded it smooth and then many layers of spray paint in between with wet sanding/prep. Took my time over a few days. Came out perfect if I say so myself.
