You live and learn. Found out that the top end of my 1986 bronco will have to be redone. Looking like it’ll be close to a 2k repair all said and done.... almost sounds like I could buy a new motor for that much doesn’t it?

You can (well, could) get a pick-n-pull V8 cheaper than that. Was this a straight 6?

You just need heads decked, valve seats cut, and new springs/valves? Or is the cam and/or cam bearings bad?

If the cam bearings are toast, you might as well rebuild or replace the whole thing since machine work on the block will most likely be required.
