Relied on my ingenuity yesterday to make ribs without a smoker.
I made my own rub with brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic, salt, and a few secret ingredients.
Didn’t have any wood chips to smoke them in the gas grill and wasn’t sure how to regulate the temperature, so instead I baked them in the oven at 270° for a couple hours.
Still wanted the smoke flavor, so I pulled them out, added some Irish Whiskey, then covered back up for another hour in the oven.
Pulled em out again, added more rub, and moved them to the Broiler to carmelize the top side.
They turned out pretty well!
