Fatwood is made from the old pine stumps. 1st time trying it. Will cut stumps 1 at a time a month apart and see what I get.
Fatwood happens when roots keep pumping pitch into the stump. After a while more violatle compounds in pitch evaporate, leaving you with dry wood.
I am hoping, since I cut the trees down the spring, summer weather will speed up the proccess.
