Reading this made me feel old, my daughters were born in 97 & 98. Not sure why they jumped out at me. to your point a valid one to ponder. Seems crazy

@2Glocks - to make matters worse Russia is about to take over Ukraine. No telling what flex China is going to do.

I guess people rob these off the older rifles and put some poly CAR on it. If I understand correctly, the aluminum was used on all of them up to a certain point--early 1985? Anybody got any ideas if this is correct? I want one of these cause when my rifle jams I can butt stroke them and not tear up my stock. I got some of those slings yesterday for that "period" look.

I may need a new firing pin, too.

I found some random Email off the gunboards, guys on there were saying email this Don guy and he has some. So I did. We’ll see. I’ll let you know if I hear something back. The firing pins are in stock on numrich for $40

Good luck. Very hard to find an original. They cracked & broke pretty easily. Repop ones can even be pretty pricy. It's been a long time since I messed with nambu stuff though. If I remember, the mag retention spring was added to the type 14 in late 1939 or early 1940.

Mines a 1940 I think
