I'm half fudd too. I would have thought about it if it was 30-06 or 308. 270 don't work well were I hunt. I think the longest shot I've taken in Jawja was probably 60 yards.

Dad uses 3006, I’ve just always used to 70 growing up so that’s kind of what I stuck with. But this past season I got into 3030 and 4570 and I love it

Yes! I hope they pump them out soon. Debating selling my 357 lever action. Fun to plink with but hunting with it, I’m not too confident.
I like bigger rounds too. I don't like tracking deer. It's weird though. 2 inches off and a deer will run a mile. Even with a big round. Shot one with my 12ga with 300 grain sabot slugs. Hornady sst. I followed blood for over 500 yards before the blood stopped and there was no deer. I saw the blood coming out and I knew I hit about 2 inches high but I didn't expect it to live.
Happened to me with a hog with 6.5CM. That’s why I hate it haha. But yeah I feel ya. I have a family friend who hunts with 357 exclusively but I just don’t wanna chance it Myself.
357 is a good round. I'd be pretty comfortable at the range I hunt. Them flat nose big cal are probably really good at the 50-60 yard range.
