It may actually work if you scuff it all to hell first. This thing was beat all to shit, and I'm pretty sure the dye somewhat stuck in the worst places.

Here is a better pic of my 50+ year old Colt M16 early Air Force contract 20 rounder. It has what is referred to as the "bright" floorplate. The magazine body is the shiny moly graphite type. The follower is metal of course. Below is the 40 rounder that I had to fight the cat to get it out of the toilet.

I traded my last few GI issue mags to 3x, a few weeks ago.

I don't know anything about the 5900 series, other than that police used to use them. I had a used police trade in Gwinnett Sheriffs marked, payed $300 for it. 5903
