I've been thinking of a way to do this...but I think I'm going to relocate the nest possibly.
I wouldn't do it again. I know that much.
I don't know how true it is, that if you touch a nest/relocate it, the mother bird will abandon the chicks. I personally would put brush over the open nest.

I put some small branches and leaves around the nest for shade and cover, not sure how well it's gonna stay. We will see.
But everytime I walk outside I get buzzbombed by a bunch of Swifts, they'll come right at my head. There's probably 20-30 of them. Must be a few nests around here but I don't see any
