What??? G19 isn’t PeRfEcTiOn??? View attachment 144252

If you really want to stick with a pistol, the S&W M&P 9EZ Shield is specifically made for this situation. Easy to rack the slide, manageable recoil, easy to load the mag.
But it’s only 8 rnds.
yeah mom didn't like the 8 round dilemma. I think I am going to try the lighter recoil spring first. She said "well why don't we sell one of dad's guns and buy the EZ" and I had to explain to her that, that wasn't an option lol

Let her shoot it first. She only has to rack it once... lighter recoil springs combined with her age and strenght will lead to limp wrist effect and cause the weapon to not function. If she can't shoot it in stock form get her a revolver or the SW EZ mentioned above
yeah I was thinking the same thing. She shot it years ago, its probably been 5 years or so and shot it great, was hitting good on the target. We plan on making an outing someday soon hopefully to the local range.

If you are talking purely home defense and not carry, why don't get your mom a PCC? More compact than a rifle, more stability with a brace, etc. People that don't shoot often, tend to really suck at shooting pistols. You definitely want to get something your mom can be effective with.

Maybe a Scorpion Evo, Stribog A1, or something like that might be a good choice.
yeah I was thinking about that too. Price is kinda a determining factor tho. Pistols like you said can be hard to master to a limited shooter
