That's going way back... and for all practical purposes, the Knights Templar and Hohenzollerns, from what I remember, if I remember it correctly, were considered Teutonic and thus, in the modern sense, Germans... like many Viking tribes were from modern Russia, but get lumped in with western Europe Vikings... it's a interesting point.
