I've got my nylon 66 from when i was a kid. Black stock with white diamond, but blue metal.

I'm not a fan of the butt stock tube fed system.... when you're standing in the woods, it takes 4 hands to load the thing.

But aside from that, it was always a good shooter.
Ha Ha and loosing an inner mag tube sucked.
Older ones were decent, white diamond black stock was older model.
later years they had to compete with the rugers, Springfields and savage so the made em cheaper with MIM and cast parts.

Those model numbers came from the makeup of the stock.
Nylon #66 was a softer nylon vs the Nylon #77
#66 scratched easy but tough
#77 was harder nylon, didn't scratch as easy but would split or break in northern country where it got below zero often.

Wish I had everyone back that I bought and sold, even the Kmart green ones

Covers are the metal side plates.
You can fix that or just get new side plates off classicfirearmsandparts, nimrich, egay
Price those before you pay up
He says "It's decent has a couple flaws to it the cover has been painted and could use a little love but it shoots way too good and can be cleaned up to be awesome again

I'm not sure what the cover is?
